Your Favorite T1N Hack or Mod That Makes Life Easier?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been tinkering with my trusty 2002–2006 T1N Sprinter, and I realized that half the fun of owning one of these vans is all the little tricks and mods that make them more livable, reliable, or just fun.

So I’m curious:

  • What’s one modification, upgrade, or DIY hack you’ve done to your T1N that you couldn’t live without now?
  • Could be mechanical, interior, or electrical, anything that makes driving or camping better.
  • Bonus points for photos or step-by-step tips.

I’ll start: I swapped my dome lights for LED strips with a dimmer, and now I can see what I’m doing at night without blinding myself. Super simple, but I wish I’d done it years ago!

Let’s hear your favorites, maybe we’ll all get some new weekend project ideas.

Cheers

I installed a timer relay (Amazon link) and tweaked it so the module shuts off completely after the 2‑minute window, preventing any battery drain. Now my power windows stay alive for 2 minutes after removing the key, which is super handy for those “oops, forgot to roll it up” moments, no need to turn the ignition back on.
